Nakul Mondal (b. 1982 Burdwan, West Bengal India) completed his M.F.A. in painting from the historic art school Kala-Bhavana, founded by Rabindranath Tagore, where he was exposed to the rich tradition of India’s modernists. Typically though, his large tableaus, overflowing with the people in his life - his friends, his neighbors, his family, his loves - have more in common with work of Paul Gauguin.
